Iheanacho nominated for Award
Kelechi Iheanacho will be vying for Leicester City’s goal of season at the club’s End Of Season awards.
The Nigerian international’s strike was the lone goal that helped the Foxes past Brentford in January’s FA Cup fourth round encounter at Griffin Park.
In the 4th minute, defender James Justin cut a precise cross into the path of Iheanacho, who controlled calmly and tucked the ball pass Brentford’s goalkeeper, Lee Daniel, with the deftness of a player beyond his years.
The goal contends the aesthetic award with goals from Jamie Vardy, James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira, Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes, Ben Chilwell and Hamza Choudhury, and the winner depends on voting.
The awards will be presented alongside Supporters’ Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season.
However, Iheanacho must conjure up such brilliant and composed finish against Manchester United next Sunday as Leicester seek to wrestle back a top 4 finish that they’ve let slipped after series of losses.
