AFCON Qualifiers: Rohr provides Eagles injury updates
Gernot Rohr allays injury worries ahead of next months African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers
Nigeria sits aloft the Group L of the AFCON 2021 qualifiers after a 2-1 win against Benin in the opening qualifiers, before a commanding 4-2 commanding victory against Lesotho away from home days later.
However, the quest to maintain a convincing run in the qualifying stage is being threatened with injury worries to many key players of the three-time African champions.
The coach of the side Gernot Rohr while providing an injury update, allayed injury concerns – saying the first-choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who tore his hamstring in the friendly against Brazil last year October was the only big injury.

“I’m very confident that our injured players will come back soon,” the Franco-German, as quoted by AOI.
“There is only one big injury which is Uzoho because he is out for several months but the other ones like Osimhen will be okay very soon and he’s already better.
“Omeruo has only a knock on the head, Kalu whom I saw, is already nursing a comeback this weekend.
“For Moses Simon, we have to wait to know the extent and for Ndidi he is resting very well and will be fit very soon and then we have a little injury for Etebo but its not a big one and he couldn’t play over the weekend,”
Nigeria will at home, take on Sierra Leone on the 23rd of next month, before a reverse fixture four days later.
