The Nigerian, who was released by Trabzonspor earlier on Wednesday has now joined another Turkish side Yukatel Denizlispor.
Trabzonspor in a statement in Turkish on its official website translated with Google Translate wrote, “We would like to thank our valuable player Onazi, who has adopted the values of our club in a short period of time, who has managed to integrate with the city of Trabzon, who has won the love of all our fans from seven to seventy with his character and sincerity, and wish luck and success in his career after Trabzonspor. Onazi’s whose contract with Trabzonspor ought to run till 2020 after mutual termination of his contract according to Trabzonspor immediately joined Yukatel Denizlispor, who sits 11th in the Turkey Super Lig.
Announcing the signing of the Nigerian midfielder Denizlispor wrote on Twitter, “WELCOME ONAZI! Our club signed a 1.5-year contract with Nigerian player Ogenyi Eddy Onazi, with a one-year option.”
Onazi recently returned to playing after rupturing his Achilles tendon against Rizespor in a Turkish Super Lig game in December 2018 – spending over a year on the sideline.
An excited Onazi wrote on his Instagram, “The year started with BLESSING. Denizli I am here… let’s make the difference. I can’t wait for my first game..,” he wrote on Instagram.
The 27-year-old is expected to make his debut for his new side against Champions Galatasary on Sunday.
