Chukwueze, Maja on Chelsea’s transfer list
Chelsea FC have reportedly listed Super Eagles’ duo of Samuel Chukwueze and Josh Maja amongst the attacking options up for January recruitment, as Frank Lampard intends splash £150 million on more youthful exuberance and prodigious talents.
The Nigerians on the coveted list alongside a number of highly-rated young footballers across Europe. The list includes Jordan Sancho, Leon Bailey, and Timo Werner.
Chukwueze, who broke into everyone’s consciousness last season with Villarreal when he scored 8 goals accompanied by promising performances, had talked about his admiration for the London Club in the past and explained he’s open to playing for the team.
“I was supporting Chelsea. I used to support every team that featured a Nigerian. So my love for Chelsea then was because of Mikel.”
“Maybe in the future, a movement is possible but right now my attention is on Villarreal. I want to focus well on my club and gain more confidence. Maybe when the time is ripe, I can move.”
Josh Maja, who made his Eagles’ debut against Ukraine in September, has been showing sparks since his move to Bordeaux from Sunderland last January.
He’s utilized the paltry chances he gets, scoring 5 goals in just 5 starts.
Chelsea are looking to bolster their vanguard as they have had their transfer lifted last month.
