FIFA ranking: Nigeria now 31st in the world and 3rd in Africa

Nigeria FIFA ranking soars, as the team moves 4-spots from 35 to 31 in November ranking.

Super Eagles world ranking consecutively nosedived in the last two months but wins against Benin and Lesotho moved the three-time African champions four places up.

Nigeria kick-started the 2021 AFCON qualifiers with a 2-1 win against Benin, before a commanding 4-2 commanding victory against Lesotho away from home.

The wins have now seen Nigeria garnered 12 points which increased their coefficient from 1481 to 1493.

However, despite the world increase, Nigeria remains 3rd on the African continent behind Senegal and Tunisia, who are ranked 20th and 27th respectively.

North African duo Algeria and Morocco sit fourth and fifth respectively, with Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, and Congo DR rounding up the top 10.

Meanwhile, on the world stage, the top 5 sides from last month – Belgium, France, Brazil, England, and Uruguay maintain their respective spots.

Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, and Colombia make the top 10.

Myanmar (136th, up 11), is the only team to have advanced more than 10 positions, having done so thanks to impressive wins over Nepal (170th, down 3), Tajikistan (121st, down 5) and Mongolia (190th, down 4).
