Heskey: Aubameyang is a defender nightmare
‘He only needs a chance’ – Emile Heskey heaps praise on Aubameyang
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signed from Borussia Dortmund in the winter of 2018, and he arrived at Arsenal as one of world’s most efficient goal poacher.
Since the 30-year-old arrived at Arsenal, he’s played 76 games and scored 49 goals.
In his first full season at Arsenal, Aubameyang ended the season as English Premier League joint-top scorer alongside fellow African duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
In addition, ever since the Arsenal second most expensive player made his league debut, no player has had more league goals than him.
This stunning stats are what made Heskey, a former Liverpool striker brand the Gabonese a ‘defender nightmare.’
“Aubameyang’s really sunk his feet in to the league and looks like he could score every game,” Heskey said in Bwinsport
“He’s a defender’s nightmare because he only needs one chance. It plays on a defender’s mind a lot more when you know that one slip and the guy you’re marking is going to punish you.
“He’s hungry for goals and can make something out of nothing, he was an outstanding buy from the club.”

Whilst Aubameyang is having a good start to the season, Arsenal, in contrast, are having somewhat unconvincing start to the season, as they sit fifth in the Premier League log.
Heskey believes the North London club have enough arsenal in their armoury to finish in the top four
“Arsenal have quietly gone about their business this season and should definitely be confident of a top-four finish.
“They’re picking up results and have some excellent young players coming through the ranks,” he added.
