Players outside top six will stroll into United’s midfield
Midfield, not attack Manchester United’s weakest link – Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton midfielder Kevin Kilbane has described Man United’s midfield set-up as the worst ever.
42-year-old Kilbane represented several English clubs but was most famous for his time at Everton, where he starred from 2003 – 2006.
After a blistering opening day in the league, United have struggled of late, as the 21-time league champions have failed only won 2 out of 6 league games this season.
A run of poor result is dated to last season, as the Manchester clubs have only scored just 17 goals in 19 games since March, but Kilbane believes that a midfield set-up that has Paul Pogba is the club’s weakest link.
“I think this is probably the weakest midfield of any Man United side that I’ve ever seen, Kilbane told Offtheball.com
“Even in recent weeks with the Leicester midfield, you could probably name players outside of the top six that would certainly get into Man United’s midfield.”

On the title race, Kilbane notes that Manchester City have the best midfield to challenge for the title.
Also, while having issues with Liverpool’s set up in the middle of the park, the 110 Irish cap international says the Merseyside Red are far ahead of United.
He continued, “For all that we speak about the title race, Manchester City’s midfield is obviously better.
“Liverpool’s midfield isn’t what you would consider a midfield that is capable of controlling a game, but it is way better than Man United’s.
