Rohr invites Ramon Azzez, 22 others for Brazil friendly

Peter Olayinka and Denis Emmanuel have been handed a call-up, while Ramon Azeez will be making a return to the national team after nearly 5 years away from the national team.

Gernot Rohr has invited two new faces for the friendly game against Brazil next month.

Meanwhile, there was no place for the duo of captain Ahmed Musa and struggling Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho in the squad.

Kenneth Omeruo, who was out of the Super Eagles’ friendly 2-2 draw friendly against Ukraine earlier this month and Joe Aribo, who suffered an injury to his head in a mid-week cup game made the team.

Two weeks ago, the Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) announced that the Selecao would play friendly games with two African sides – Senegal and Nigeria.

The game against Senegal will be played on the 10th of next month, while three days later the world 2nd best football team will face the Super Eagles – both games billed for the Singapore stadium.

Last week, the CBF released a strong squad for the ties, with Neymar, Coutinho, and Firminho set to feature in the game against the 1st and 3rd African best side.

Meanwhile, Garba Lawal has described the game against the Brazilians as a god test for the Super Eagles

The former Nigeria international also said the Selecao were still bitter over their loss to Nigeria at the semi-finals of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
