Ronaldo “boring”: I want to be free again
The Portuguese forward has lamented that his stardom has taken away his private life.
Cristiano Ronaldo deems his fame as being boring and says he “wants to be free again.
The former Man United and Real Madrid forward in an interview with Piers Morgan for ITV revealed that after 15 years of always being in the news, he needed some privacy.
“A part of it is fantastic.” The Juventus forward said.”Being famous, first page of the newspaper and TV. But after 15 years, after all this time, I want some privacy.
“In the last 10 years, my privacy has gone.
“I haven’t been to the park with my kids. If I go, people turn up and my kids are nervous, my girlfriend is nervous, I’m nervous.
“When you are in public, you cannot be yourself. It’s boring. I want to be free again.”
Aside from being a successful athlete, Ronaldo is one of the world’s most-followed persons on social media.
However, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner doesn’t pay attention to his social media feat – saying he only strives to be the No. 1 in football.
“75 percent of my life is football. The rest is my family and friends. I like to be No. 1 of course. On Instagram, if I’ll be the no third or fourth, it doesn’t matter.
‘In my job? yes. I want to be the No. 1.”
