The 2017 French Ligue champions confirmed the signing of Henry Onyekuru

The French Ligue 1 side have announced the signing of the Nigeria international, who put to pen on a five-year deal.

Henry Onyekuru has joined AS Monaco from Everton for a fee reported to be around £15m.

The 22-year-old, who spent last season at Turkish side Galatasary, joined the Toffees in the summer of 2017-18, but inability to secure a work permit has made him spend the last two season on loan away from England.

Confirming the former Eupen forward signing, AS Monaco wrote on Twitter: “AS Monaco are delighted to announce the signing of Henry Onyekuru from Everton. Our new attacking midfielder joins on a five-year deal.”

While on loan last season at Galatasary, Onyekuru scored 16 goals in 44 appearances – helping the Turkish outfit to win the league and the Turkiye Kupasi.

The delighted forward wrote on his official Twitter page (@henryconyekuru): “Enchante Monaco. New league, new challenge, I’m excited, let’s get started.”

He continued, “I want to thank Everton for the opportunity and making it possible for me to experience the best year of my career at @Galatasary.

“My time in Turkey was nothing short of amazing! The supporters, the club and my teammates made me feel at home from Day 1! We made history. Thank you!”

The forward was part of the Super Eagles team that won a Bronze medal at the last AFCON in Egypt.

Onyekuru, who made his Super Eagles debut in a friendly 3-0 friendly win against Togo in 2017 has further racked up 10 more appearances in the national team colours, with just a goal to his name.
