Pepe finally at the Emirate: Arsenal confirm record signing
Nicolas Pepe becomes Arsenal fourth signing of the season
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of the Ivorian who arrives from Ligue 1 side Lille for a record fee of £72m.
Nicolas Pepe netted 22 league goals and 11 assists last season, and his sterling performance has earned him a huge transfer fee to Arsenal that is said to be paid on installment for five years.
Arsenal on their official website has confirmed that the 24-year-old has completed all paper works and revealed that the winger will wear the No. 19 shirt – the shirt previously worn by goalkeeper Bern Leno.
A delighted Unai Emery on the record acquisition told Arsenal official website: “Nicolas is a highly-rated and talented winger who was wanted by many of the top teams in Europe.
“Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives in this transfer window and I’m delighted he’s joining.
“He will add pace, power and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team.”
