Man U target Varane to stay at Real Madrid
Varane also blames his poor fun on fatigue
Raphael Varane has declared his intention to continue his career at Real Madrid amidst links away from the club.
As the entirety of the Real Madrid squad struggled over the season, it was not a top notch season for Varane.
The World Cup winning defender was amongst the top names heavily criticised and rumoured to be on their way out of Real Madrid.
Varane, mooted for a move to English side Manchester United is unperturbed by the summer arrival of €50m Eder Militao, which could make starting berth more difficult, as he revealed in an interview with Marca that he would be back to his best next season.
The 26-year-old told Marca: “It would have been sad, but everything has to end some day. It wasn’t my wish to go after a season like this.
“It would have been very ugly, but it won’t be the case.
“I want to remain in Madrid next year. I’m sure we’ll be strong and I’m convinced the season will be a very good one.

Varane joined Madrid from Lens in 2010 and having spent eight years at the club, the defender said he was ready to take charge of responsibility at the club next season
“I already have responsibility at the club, I’m the fourth captain after eight years here,” he added.
“I don’t have to change my way of being and I give advice to the younger players. It doesn’t scare me to take responsibility, or to be an important part of such a big club. I’ve always stepped forward and I’ll continue to do so.”
