Mourinho: Klopp and Pochettino deserve Champions League

Klopp and Pochettino

I will be in trouble in the UCL final, Mourinho

The former Manchester United manager admits he is in a state of dilemma, as to who to support between Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino in the Champions League final.

Klopp, with his side Liverpool, had on Monday came from a 3-0 down, to defeat Spanish giants Barcelona 4-0 at Anfield – doing the unthinkable without the services of talisman, Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firminho.

Pochettino on the other hand, after his side had suffered a 1-0 defeat at home last week, yesterday, away from home, with 2-0 down at half-time was able to spur his side to a 3-2 win, which made the English side qualified on aggregate.

With the good works both Klopp and Pochettino are doing at their respective clubs over the years, they’ve had no trophy to show for it.

Mourinho, who has been out of job since he was sacked at United last December said the duo were deserving of their first trophy with their respective clubs.

The Portuguese told Beinsports: “You have to read the battle, to read your soldiers and their qualities and to try to win that battles because Football is to have fun – make people jumping in front of the screen.

“But football is about winning and to speak about winning, I will be in trouble in the final because I like Mauricio and Jurgen very, very much and I think they both deserve to win a trophy. The first trophy for Jurgen with Liverpool, the first trophy for Mauricio with Spurs.

Whilst the former Chelsea, United, and Real Madrid manager was of the belief that it would be a fantastic final, he urged the fans of the two clubs to portray themselves well in Madrid.

“I think it will be a fantastic final, and I hope Liverpool and Spurs fans enjoy Madrid.

“They behave amazingly well, and give to football, the same things both teams have given.”

This year Champions League final is billed for June 1, at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
