AFCON 2019: Nigeria draws Burundi, Guinea…..
The three-time African champions will face Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi and AFCON 2019
The three-time African champions have been drawn alongside Burundi, who are making their first appearance at the competition, Guinea, and Madagascar for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
Nigeria, who won the 2013 editions, but failed to make it to the two next editions, seemed to have been given the easiest group draws amongst countries deemed to be favourite to win the AFCON 2019.
On the other hand, Nigeria former forward Emmanuel Amuneke, who qualified Tanzania to their first ever AFCON in 39 years, have been given an uphill task – as his side will do battle with Senegal, Algeria, and Kenya.
The former Barcelona forward had boasted in an interview with naijafootballplus that his side would not be a pushover for the top guns of the competition.
Meanwhile, Host nation and the most successful side in the history of the competitionEgypt, in Group A, were drawn alongside DR Congo, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
