2019 AFCON: Super Eagles not favourites, Rohr
Rohr: Semi-finals is the target for Super Eagles
The Franco-German has ruled out the 2013 African Champions from winning the 2019 editions billed to hold in Egypt.
With a qualifying game in hand against Seychelles, Nigeria already have qualified for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, meanwhile, the Technical Adviser of the team Gernot Rohr has played down talks of the country winning her fourth AFCON title.
Whilst the former Gabon manager trusted his young squad to perform well in Egypt, he said the semi-finals would be the team target.
“We have a very young team that can do well.”
Meanwhile, Amaju Pinnick, the Nigeria Football Federation President, as reported by spotkick early this year affirmed that a fourth AFCON title was the top priority for the country this year.
In addition, Pinnick promised that the 11-time women African Champions, who will be playing at Women’s World Cup later this year won’t be short of support.
