Arsene Wenger should replace Sarri at Chelsea

Wenger good for Chelsea

Wenger still has points to prove, and he could do that by joining Chelsea, says David Seaman

Seaman has said his former boss should consider taking the Chelsea job, should the club decide to sack Maurizio Sarri.

Pressure has been mounted on Sarri, who has failed to stir a good fortune of results recently – as Chelsea have lost their last three away games in the league, and recently knocked out by Manchester United in the FA Cup.

According to reports, result outcomes in Chelsea’s next three games would be pivotal on whether the Italian remains the coach or not at Stamford Bridge – with assistant Gianfraco Zola being lined up as one of the possible temporary replacements.

Despite Wenger ruling out the possibility of coaching any other English Club due to affiliation with Arsenal in the past, Seaman, however, believes the Frenchman could use the Blues’ job to prove a point to people.

Seaman told talksport, “Arsene always said he wouldn’t come back to the Premier League because of his love for Arsenal, that he wouldn’t feel right competing against Arsenal.

“But obviously time’s a healer and he could think, ‘I want to go back there and prove a few people wrong’.

“For me, Arsene got a lot of criticism that wasn’t deserved over his last few years at Arsenal.

“It looks like there could be a vacancy at Chelsea quite soon, depending on their next three games which are three big games for Chelsea. He’d be great there, I think. He’d be great anywhere, he’s a fantastic manager.”

While the former Arsenal and Three Lions of England goalkeeper would fancy seeing his ex-boss in the dug-out for a rival club, he added: “I don’t think it would happen.”
