Asisat Oshoala signs for Barca on a three-year deal
Barça and Dalian Quanjian have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Nigerian forward
But after a sterling performance – with the former Liverpool and Arsenal player scoring 8 goals in 11 appearances – one of the goals coming in a Champions League final match, where Barcelona lost 4-1 to Lyon, the Catalunya club, today announced the loan move has been made permanent.
A statement on Barca’s official website read: “Asisat Oshoala and FC Barcelona have linked a new contract until June 30, 2022, after the agreement for transfer from the club on the 1st of July between Dalian Quanjian and Dalian club.
“When the calendar so permits, the act of signing of the new Oshoala contract with Barça will take place.”
Reacting to the announcement, Oshoala on her official Twitter handle wrote, “New home.”
Oshoala is currently concentrated with the Nigerian national team, who are preparing for their World Cup outing billed to kick-start next Friday.
The Super Falcons are drawn in Group A alongside host France, South Korea, and Norway.
