Bayern agree deal with Everton for Onyekuru
The deal, however, could be upstaged by some unnamed Spanish clubs
The Bundesliga giant have reportedly agree deal in principles to sign the 21-year-old Nigerian.
Bayern Munich are expected to recruit heavily for the upcoming season, as their ageing wingers – Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery will both leave the club when their contract expire next month.
Although the Bavarians have identified Manchester City Leroy Sane as their prime target, it seems the services of Henry Onyekuru will be the one they will secure first.
Onyekuru, who spent the just concluded season on loan at Galatasaray from Everton also have suitors in the likes of PSG and some Spanish sides.
According to Colin Udoh, a Nigerian sports journalism, who have a great connection with most of the Super Eagles players, Onyekuru might be heading to Bayern for a fee yet disclosed.
The journalist revealed on his Twitter page, @Colinudoh: Sources tell me Bayern Munich have agreement in principle with Everton for forward Henry Onyekuru and deal close.
“But could still be upstaged by La Liga interest and at least one other EPL club. Fingers crossed.”
Onyekuru over the course of the just concluded season scored 12 goals in 35 appearances – helping his club to win the league and the Turkish Cup.
Meanwhile, the former Eupen and Anderlecht player’s attention will now be shifted on the 2019 AFCON, bid to start next month, as he has been named in Nigeria’s provisional squad.
