Mikel confirms his readiness for Nations Cup
John Mikel -Obi has been unavailable for the Super Eagles since the group stage exit at the 2018 World Cup.
But with the African Nations Cup billed to commence next month, the Super Eagles Captain has stated his readiness to be at the tournament.
The 32-year-old has missed Nigeria’s last seven games – five of which were the qualifiers for the AFCON.
Aftermath the meeting with coach, Gernot Rohr, Mikel, as quoted by Aoifootball said:” I met with Coach Rohr and we discussed his plans for the team in the forthcoming tournament.
“All I can say is that I am delighted and happy because I am coming to the Nations Cup.”
Rohr on his part after the meeting with his skipper revealed that an official statement would be made soon, but revealed it was a good meeting.
The Super Eagles have been drawn in Group B alongside Burundi, Madagascar, and Guinea.
