Gary Neville: Pogba does not want to be at United

Pogba is free to leave – Gary Neville

The former United Captain said the United youth product who returned to Old Trafford was desperate for another move away from the club.

Gary Neville revealed he knew Paul Pogba’s issue at Manchester United would always resurface, as he was unsure whether the Frenchman wants to continue his career at the club.

Pogba has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, and while on international duty in March, the midfielder spoke of his admiration to play for the club under Zinedine Zidane.

The 26 years old started the season slowly – as the reported tumult atmosphere mainly created by him at the club early this season led to the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

But there was a brief resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer – and now a recent dip in form as thrown the future of Pogba up in the air again.

Neville told Skysports: “I don’t think he wants to be here, that’s his problem. His agent [Mino Raiola] is into him. He’s done brilliant for Ole, by the way, scored 11 goals and made seven assists or so.

“I thought a few months ago that everything was brilliant, but I said that I believed the issues would resurface.

“We know his agent, we know the influence he has, and he’s had his head turned by other clubs.

“He’s playing like somebody who doesn’t quite want to be here. But a player who doesn’t want to be at the club, and has a big influence in the dressing room on the likes of [Jesse] Lingard and [Marcus] Rashford, if he’s not at it, it’s a massive problem.
