Cavani out of Manchester United clash
Paris Saint-German has confirmed the unavailability of the Uruguayan ahead of their Champions League Round 16 tie against Manchester United on Tuesday.
PSG, who already will be without the service of talisman Neymar – out injured for 10 weeks, were dealt further blow on Saturday when Edinson Cavani limped off in a league game 1-0 win over Bordeaux.
Confirming the unavailability of Cavani who has scored 21 goals in 25 outings this season, PSG in a statement on its website wrote, “The examinations carried out revealed a lesion of a tendon on the right hip.
“The treatment and the duration of unavailability will depend on the recovery in the coming days.”
According to L’Equipe, Cavani could miss up to a month of action, which would potentially rule him out of the return game at the Parc des Princes on 6 March.
Also will be missing in action on Tuesday for PSG is right-back Thomas Meunier, who suffered a concussion in the game against Bordeaux.
