Victor Obinna Nsofor has described the Portuguese as the best manager he ever worked with.

Although Jose Mourinho and Nsofor only worked together for a season, with the 48 capped Nigerian international sent on loan to Malaga in the Portuguese final season with the season.

Mourinho won the league twice, the Champions League in the 2009-10 season, and one Supercoppa Italiana and Copa Italia respectively with the Nerazurri.

“The best time of my career was working with Mourinho because I met a different level of performance, professionalism and teamwork,” The 31-year-old told Omasports.

“Mourinho changed everything when he arrived Inter. For example, we had just two pitches for the first team at the Apiano Gentile training ground. Mourinho came and built five. Our training was with intensity, and we wanted to play more.”

He explained further, “The first time in my career that I had pre-match talks of not more than 15 minutes was with Mourinho.

“Other managers that I have worked with were different. Sometimes, a pre-match talk would last for over an hour, and some players will be dozing off. They sometimes tell you things that are as elementary as how to cross the ball. With Mourinho, it was precise and quick. 15 munites, it was over.

“Yes, he is arrogant and stubborn, but that is because he knows what he wants at all times and such people are usually not liked. For me, Mourinho is the best I have worked with.”

Once described by Mourinho as one of Inter’s best talents for the future, Nsofor’s career has not gone upright as predicted.

Since leaving Inter for Malaga on loan in 2009, he has went on to represent six clubs – the last being Cape Town City of South Africa, and was released by the club after just a season.

Currently without a club, Nsofor revealed that he was on a lookout for a one, but most clubs are worried over his fitness level.
