I want my Players to win but I also want my Players to go on Holiday: Jose Mourinho Predicts World Cup Group Stage
Jose Mourinho has offered his predictions for the group stage of the upcoming World Cup in Russia. The Manchester United manager is one of the tournament’s pundits for Russian Television channel RT, was asked to make his predictions of the group stage of the competition.
‘I’m not ready because it’s very difficult’ said Mourinho. ‘I don’t want to be emotional, but I have to be. I will contradict myself because I want my players to win and I also want my players to go on holiday, so this is going to be tough’. While making predictions over Group E, which involves one of his club players Nemanja Matic, Jose predicted Serbia- Matic’s country- to be beaten to second place by Switzerland. ‘Brazil wins. And I need Matic to go on holiday, so Switzerland to finish second. I’m sorry Nemanja, but you’re on holiday.’
The former Chelsea boss predicted Nigeria to go through from Group D along with Argentina, while he predicted his home country Portugal to finish second in their group. ‘Spain to win Group B, and I will show later that I am totally Portuguese, but they are going to finish second in the group.’ Mourinho added.
He also backed Senegal to win Group H, and opted for Australia to be the surprise team, predicting the Socceroos to finish second behind France in Group C.
